Board Updates: There have been some changes to our board and we want to share these with you so that you know who will be making funding decisions.
Our veteran board members Davin Corona, Goetz Wolff, Lewis Wright, Tim Sandoval, Dave Arian and Diane Middleton will continue to serve. You can read their bios by clicking on
We are happy to announce three great women have agreed to join us for this funding cycle as observers.
Patricia Castellanos is currently Project Director with the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE) and has played a key role in building the Coalition for Clean and Safe Ports. Paty has also been the Harbor Area Director for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and worked on policy and education issues with SCOPE.
Rachel Bruhnke is a founder of CUSSP (Cuba-US Sustainability Project) and a former Cuba organizer with Global Exchange. Rachel is an anti-war activist, holds an MS in Environmental Engineering and specializes in global free trade and sustainable resource use questions.
Socorro Orozco is active in the Trinational Coalition to Defend Public Education. This important new coalition brings together teachers and teacher unions from Mexico, Canada and the U.S. to raise awareness about issues of privatization of public education. Socorro is a pre school teacher in Santa Monica.
